Elias serves as Alectra’s Executive Vice President of Asset Strategy & Operations, where he leads the organization’s asset management and engineering functions - including investment planning, system standards, design, grid modernization, and customer connections. He also oversees operations, including capital construction, maintenance programs, stations, lines, system control and emergency response. 

Over 25 years, Elias has developed a broad and diverse expertise in the electric utility industry. His background includes managing both distribution and transmission systems, developing asset strategies and plans, leading procurement, supply chain, and warehousing operations, and advising on regulatory, customer, and legal matters. Prior to joining Alectra, Elias held the role of Executive Vice-President, Planning and Chief Engineering and Modernization Officer at another major Ontario utility. He has also contributed to the sector and broader community through various roles, including serving on the Board of Directors for Job Skills, participating in Electricity Canada’s Distribution Council, participating as a member of the Organizing Committee for the Breakfast of Champions for SickKids, and instructing at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Elias holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Osgoode Hall Law School. He also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Professionally, he is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and a lawyer licensed by the Law Society of Ontario.
