Electric Vehicle & Charging Infrastructure Incentives

If you're in the market for an electric vehicle (EV), explore the various purchase incentives and rebates that could enhance your buying experience.

Incentives are subject to change, so please refer to the Government of Canada links on this page for the most current information about EV incentives. Stay tuned as we regularly update this section to include additional incentives as they become accessible*.

For Individual Buyers:

Federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP)

The Government of Canada’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) provides point-of-sale incentives for eligible new electric vehicles purchased or leased in Canada.

For 2026, eligible battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles can receive up to $5,000, while eligible plug-in hybrid vehicles can receive up to $2,500. Incentives are applied directly at the dealership or authorized seller. Eligibility depends on the vehicle, transaction and other program requirements.

Other ways to save:

Check with your employer to see whether your workplace offers EV-related benefits, such as workplace charging, preferred pricing or other incentives.
You may also be eligible for programs that provide rewards for participating in eligible home EV charging. Some programs use the value generated through Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations to provide payments or other benefits to participating EV drivers. Learn more about available programs.

For Businesses:

Businesses and organizations may be eligible for incentives and other measures when purchasing or leasing eligible zero-emission vehicles.

The Federal EV Affordability Program includes eligible light-duty vehicles purchased or leased by Canadian organizations and businesses.
