Mississauga, ON – Alectra Inc. is providing $25,000 to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold to help residents manage the immediate impacts of recent flooding across the city.

Between July 21 and August 2, St. Catharines experienced three intense rainstorms, delivering more than 300 mm of rainfall to some neighbourhoods. The severe weather caused widespread flooding and significant property damage, leaving many families facing an urgent and challenging recovery.

Families across St. Catharines are dealing with the aftermath of repeated flooding and the difficult task of rebuilding their homes and lives,” said Brian Bentz, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alectra Inc. “Through our AlectraCARES Community Support Program, we are committed to supporting Community Care Care of St. Catharines and Thorold as it delivers vital assistance to residents who need it most. We hope this contribution provides meaningful relief as the community continues its recovery.

Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold, in co-ordination with the City of St. Catharines, is supporting affected residents with essential resources, including cleaning supplies and household items, food security services, and emergency assistance.
